What is Mini rugby? Mini Rugby is about having fun, learning new skills and of course being part of a team Children from age 5 (or year 1 at school) through to 12 can play and from age 13 we have Youth teams. NB We do have children who are in reception at school (IE younger than 5) taking part, but generally experience shows that the majority of children are not ready until Year 1 at school. It's for all the family. Boys and Girls can play. New players can start at any age, you don’t need to start at Age 5! When and Where does it happen Every Sunday from the 1st one in September to the last Sunday in April It starts at 10:30am and finishes at 12pm The clubhouse is open from 10am until 1pm, where hot dogs and drinks are available. We are normally at Holt Rugby club (see Map option on the left of this screen), although we are sometimes away at another rugby club (see our fixture list) How are the groups organised? There are separate “age groups” for each year and each is based on school years. Our Youngest group (Under 6s – on 1st September 2004) is for first years (school year 1). We do have a few Reception class children in this youngest group. You are welcome to bring your children. Until Under 9 (Year 4), we play a non contact “Tag” rugby version of rugby. From Under 7s (2nd years) we play fixtures (see our fixture list) with other local rugby clubs. We charge an annual membership of £25 for each mini player. That’s it. There are no weekly fees. Want to know more or have a go Please feel free to turn up at the Rugby club on any Sunday morning in the season (but check the fixture list first as we may be at another club). Come and have a look and see if you like what you see. First 3 sessions are free. So you can try it out and see if its for you before paying anything.
