Whats more as the tour organiser your job is helped as the accomodation, activities food and rugby is all sorted in one call. The Kingswood mini rugby festival is held annually (Easter holidays) at Holt RFC. Stay at the Kingswood activity centre on Friday and Saturday and then play in the Mini rugby festival on the Sunday. No tour operators as this only adds unnecessary costs to the tour. Origins of Tournament 8 teams per age group clubs can enter more than one
team, provided it fits ok with the other bookings. Only open to touring teams + host club Holt. NB we love our neighbours, but cannot fit them in to this one and we see them on our local circuit anyway! Activities/Accomodation
Other Touring opportunities We will always do our best to host touring clubs and help clubs find reasonably priced accomodation. 3 full size pitches + a full set of mini's pitches, ample parking + first rate kitchen volunteers ensures we are able to cope with the biggest of clubs, many of whom stay in caravans at Gt Yarmouth and then bus up to see us. Other Norfolk clubs are equally glad to host touring clubs. Fakenham, Lowestoft, North Walsham, Norwich, Swaffham, West Norfolk (Kings Lynn) and Wymondham all run mini's & Youth teams and should have details of their contacts on their websites. But if you have any trouble getting hold of a club, contact Ben Jones(Holts Mini's chairman) on 01263 712446 and he will be able to help you. Kingswood Festival 2005 - saw teams from Nottingham, Melton Mowbray, Cheshunt, Camberley and West Bridgford. Local club Fakenham joined in as well. This was our first ever stab at a festival and thanks to particularly Nottingham who got on board early on we pulled it off and had a cracking day. Kingswood Festival 2006 - Back came Nottingham, Melton Mowbray and West Bridgford and joining for the first time came, Westcombe Park, Colchester, Gravesend, Mansfield and Kesteven. Also local club Swaffham brought a team. Derby Under 11s and 10s 2006 - Derby came across to see us (I think it was Friday evening under floodlights) with a full weekend of rugby playing Norwich, Holt and West Norfolk in three separate fixtures. Teddington 2006 - We hosted Teddington one of the biggest clubs on the London circuit. We looked after them on the Saturday and then they went (in their fleet of coaches) onto West Norfolk for the Sunday. We all had a great day and helped the clubs bar profits considerably! Easter Sunday 2007- Guests this time were Saracens and Kettering and this included an afternoon ladies game between Holt and Kettering, which ensured a full days entertainment for all those attending. Kingswood Festival 2007 - incredible sunny weather and a full house saw teams from the Midlands, London and South compete across the full 6 agegroups. The festival is unique in that only one non-touring side enters the contest and that is Holt the host club. Few of the clubs are able to field full strength sides and this gives opportunity to bring in players who don't always feature at festivals. Congratualtions to all these teams who held up so strongly throughout the day. Nottingham in domninent mood won the Under 7s, 8s and 9s. Holt (perhaps taking advantage of their opponents lack of sleep over the last two nights!) wrapped up both the Under 10s and 11s. This was a first tournament win for their Under 10s. Tring (Hertfordshire) fielding two sides in the Under 12s were unstoppable and eventually found their A and B teams playing each other in the final. Congratulations to all the rugby sides who took part (and the one football club). Teams from Ashfield, Cheshunt, Deepings, Gravesend, Holt, Melton Mowbray, Nottingham, Stamford, Tring, West Bridgford and Westcombe Park took part making up a total of 51 teams in 6 agegroups and played for 18 trophies.
